“It’s everyday life for us that we hold Grandmother Earth sacred, we hold the trees and the plants, everything has a spirit. We need people to be really respectful for each other. The Great Spirit put us here all together. If we’re going to survive, we need to have spirit and compassion. On June 21 we’re asking people to go to their sacred places or sacred spaces to pray.” Chief Arvol Looking Horse” 19th generation Keeper of the Sacred White Buffalo Calf Pipe

The Sacred New Earth Gathering will be an intereligious gathering that will happen in Aldeia Nova Terra as part of the  part of the various meetings and celebrations that are to be held parallel to the UN Conference on Sustainable Development, Rio +20, in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil this upcoming month of June. In this gathering a very special ceremony will be held on the June 21st to Celebrate World Peace and Day with Chief Arvol Looking Horse spiritual leader of the Dakota, Lakota and Nakota nations and several Brazilian indigenous elders and spiritual leaders of different traditions. The intention is to promote the worldwide celebration of the Global Peace and Prayer Day on June 21st, the Summer Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere and Winter Solstice in the Southern Hemisphere. Since 1996 until now Chief Arvol Looking Horse traveled to different parts of the world to perform this ceremony on June 21 to promote this day as World Peace and Prayer by making a call for people to honor their sites and Mother Nature with sacred ceremony.

Announcing the Feathered Serpent Project 2012

The Pax Gaia Research Project along with Peace 2012 and various associated groups dedicated to the preservation of ancestral knowledge,  are calling for planetary convergence on sacred sites during eight significant dates during the year 2012 leading up to December 21st.This  project is called “Serpiente Emplumada” or the “Feathered Serpent”in honor of the ancient Mesoamerican deity Quetzalcoatl, who was associated with the planet Venus and was lauded as the bringer of culture and civilization.

The idea behind the Serpiente Emplumada Project is to highlight the most significant dates in 2012 and to create appropriate  ceremonies that honor these important times in order to generate a critical mass and awaken a new Earth and a new humanity. With this intention, they are helping to organize different academic and cultural  forums on archeoastronomy and ancient Mesoamerican calendar systems.

Maifesto. Planetary awakening and Earth regenaration

“New Pioneers” by Mark Henson www.sacredlight.to

It is not hard to perceive that we are living in very critical times. Recent studies are showing that the consequences of the damage on the biosphere caused by inappropriate use of technology and the exploitation of natural resources may pose threat to the survival of humanity. The biodiversity necessary to sustain the complex life system our planet holds is being immensely threatened byour civilization’s irresponsible misuse of recourses. Where did we go wrong? What can we do to respond to the alarming signs of biospheric devastation and collapse that we are currently faced with. How did we ever reach this point?
