Caras de la India

Estas fotos son parte del trabajo titulado “Caras de la India”, realizado durante un viaje al corazón de este fascinante país durante los meses de diciembre de 2009 a marzo de 2010. Fue en este período que participé en varios festivales religiosos y culturales y con el fin de Para retratar el color y el espíritu de su gente y su cultura. Entre otros participé en el Festival Kartikai Deepam en Tiruvanamalai en el estado de Tamil Nadu; en el Festival del Desierto en Jaisalmer en Rajasthan y el festival Shivaratri en Varanasi, la Ciudad Santa de Shiva.

This album features my photographic exploration of the Indigenous People’s march on June 21s 2012 during the Rio+20 conference in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. As part of the activities a very spacial ceremony was held to celebrate World Peace and Prayer day with Chief Arvol Looking Horse,19th Generation Keeper of the Sacred White Buffalo Calf Pipe and world renowned activist and spiritual leader.

World Peace and Prayer Day 2012 – 21st of June 2012

“It’s everyday life for us that we hold Grandmother Earth sacred, we hold the trees and the plants, everything has a spirit. We need people to be really respectful for each other. The Great Spirit put us here all together. If we’re going to survive, we need to have spirit and compassion. The Sacred New Earth Gathering will be an intereligious gathering that will happen in Aldeia Nova Terra as part of the  part of the various meetings and celebrations that are to be held parallel to the UN Conference on Sustainable Development, Rio +20, in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil this upcoming month of June. In this gathering a very special ceremony will be held on the June 21st to Celebrate World Peace and Day with Chief Arvol Looking Horse spiritual leader of the Dakota, Lakota and Nakota nations and several Brazilian indigenous elders and spiritual leaders of different traditions. The intention is to promote the worldwide celebration of the Global Peace and Prayer Day on June 21st, the Summer Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere and Winter Solstice in the Southern Hemisphere. Since 1996 until now Chief Arvol Looking Horse traveled to different parts of the world to perform this ceremony on June 21 to promote this day as World Peace and Prayer by making a call for people to honor their sites and Mother Nature with sacred ceremony.
